Chicago, IL -
Chicago's progressive talk radio station will be adding a new LBGT-themed radio program in January.
Out Chicago, a two-hour weekly show airing at 11 a.m. Sundays on WCPT AM 820 (simulcast on WCPY FM 92.5, WCPT FM 92.7 and WCPQ FM 99.9), will start Jan 5.
The show will be hosted by Chicago actor Scott Duff, who'll be joined by a weekly guest co-host.
"We are extremely excited about the new show," Duff told ChicagoPride.com. "Out Chicago is like having Sunday brunch with a couple of your gay best friends, without the debate over who picks up the check."
According to Duff, the show will cover a wide variety of topics from politics and pop culture to health issues and nightlife, all from a queer perspective.
"And we'll throw in a little bit of celebrity gossip for good measure," joked Duff. "It's the perfect way to kick off your Sunday Funday."
Duff, a founding member of About Face Theatre, also hosts an LGBT-themed showcase at Chicago's Laugh Factory.
Michael Damsky, a veteran Chicago radio executive, created the programming initiative with Windy City Media Group, the parent company of Windy City Times.
In addition the station will air one-minute segments from Out Chicago hourly from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays, according to RobertFeder.com.
