WATCH: Steve Grand gets the boy in follow-up video 'Stay'

Chicago, IL - Chicago-based gay singer/songwriter Steve Grand is proving that he is here to "Stay" with a follow-up to the smash success of "All-American Boy."

Grand's song and video of unrequited love, set to an unlikely country music beat, found a devoted audience and earned more than a million views on YouTube after being released on July 2. The success of the video turned Grand into an overnight sensation.

"I am more than one song and one video," Grand said in a July 18 interview with ChicagoPride.com. "I certainly hope that this is just the very beginning, the tip of the iceberg, of a career."

Now on the heels of "All-American Boy," Grand today released his sophmore music video "Stay."

All-American boy hits it big

Grand, who graduated from Lemont High School in 2008, discovered he was gay in eighth grade. Although "All-American Boy" is based on his own experience falling for a straight friend during summer camp, Grand said the story is one that transcends sexual orientation.

"We've all fallen for someone that we can't have, but it especially rings true in the specific story for LGBT people," Grand told ChicagoPride.com. "It is the story of my life since I was 13. I was always crushing on the straight guy."

Grand has remained busy performing throughout the Chicago area, including Northalsted Market Days in August, and is scheduled to appear at Atlanta Pride in October. He plans to work on an EP in the coming months.
