Free Wi-Fi now available at Hollywood Beach

Fri. July 19, 2013

Chicago, IL - Several Chicago beaches - including Hollywood Beach - now offer free Wi-Fi beginning today.

The free access will be available starting today at Osterman/Hollywood, Foster, Montrose, North Avenue and Rainbow beaches.

Broadband access across the city is part of an economic development strategy introduced last year by Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Free wireless is expected to be available at other outdoor locations soon.

"In the coming months, we will build off of this initiative and the free wi-fi offered in Millennium Park by extending free wi-fi services to additional parks and public spaces throughout Chicago," Emanuel said in a statement.

The free access was set-up by Chicago-based Everywhere Wireless, using equipment donated by Cisco.
