Colby Melvin out front in fight for marriage equality

Thu. March 28, 2013

Los Angeles, CA - Colby Melvin has had a busy 48 hours. The model and LGBT activist, who garnered national attention as the lead in Collective Conscience's anti-Romney video "Disclose" in 2012, has been a very vocal voice for marriage equality as the Supreme Court hears the landmark cases. Melvin, who is recently engaged to his partner Brandon Robert Brown, has been out front on the issue since his starring role made him a favorite with the worldwide gay community and he isn't shying away from being very vocal in the fight now that these cases are in front of the highest court in the land.

"This is a fight for love. It is that simple," said Melvin. "I am in love with an amazing man and want to spend the rest of my life with him. I want to marry him, spend our lives together and hopefully raise children one day. I don't want my children to have to witness this same fight. My right to marry the person I love has no effect on any other person's marriage – gay or straight – and I pray the court does the right thing."

Melvin and Brown have done several interviews about their recent engagement and the marriage equality issue and will continue to be out front until marriage equality is law in all 50 states.
