The National Weather Service has issued a freezing rain advisory from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday for northeast Illinois, where ice accumulations could exceed one quarter of an inch.
According to the agency, hazardous travel conditions will develop with airport delays and power outages possible during this event.
Ice accumulations around one tenth of an inch Sunday afternoon with highs in the mid 30s.
