Pearl Jam has officially announced plans to play Chicago's Wrigley Field on July 19.
"It's official: Pearl Jam will be playing at Wrigley Field," the rock band tweeted Wednesday morning.
The Chicago Cubs followed by tweeting a photo of the iconic Wrigley Field Marquee which read, "Live Nation & Wrigley Field Welcome Pearl Jam July 19, 2013."
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Pearl Jam front man Eddie Vedder is a die-hard Cubs fan.
Vedder, an Evanston native, performed at a fundraiser for President Barack Obama last year. Now living in Seattle, Vedder also contributed to pro-gay marriage candidates in Washington state last November.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 9 at tickets.com or by calling 1-800-THE-CUBS. Tickets will not be available at the Wrigley Field Box Office.
