ABC-7 Broadcasts Chicago's 36th Annual Gay Pride Parade

Chicago, IL - ABC 7 Chicago will broadcast “The 36th Annual Gay Pride Parade” on Sunday, June 26th, 11:35 p.m. – 12:35 a.m. Hosted by ABC 7’s Entertainment Reporter and Host of “190 NORTH,” Janet Davies, this is the second year ABC 7 Chicago has covered the parade and any television station has offered extended coverage of the event. Joining Davies’ in co-hosting the festivities will be Terri Hemmert from WXRT Radio Chicago. Hemmert can be heard on WXRT, Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – noon, and Sundays, 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.



“190 NORTH’s” Lou Canellis and Michelle Alegria join the festivities on the street, while ABC 7’s Ron Magers, Rob Johnson, Karen Jordan, Kevin Roy, Leah Hope, John Garcia, Karen Meyer and Steve Dolinsky will participate in the parade via ABC 7 Chicago’s float.

This year, “The 36th Annual Gay Pride Parade” kicks off from Halsted and Belmont on Chicago's north side. Wilson Cruz, star of “My So Called Life,” the one-hour drama previously seen on ABC 7, will be the parade's Grand Marshall. “The Gay Pride Parade” is Chicago's second largest parade with 250 units and over 400,000 people on the street.
