Chicago, IL -
Olivia Newton-John is coming to the Northalsted Market Days festival taking place August 11 and 12 in Chicago's Boystown neighborhood.
Four-time grammy winner Newton-John has been an idol on sound and screen over the last four decades. Best known for her singing and acting roles in Grease and Xanadu, in addition to recent appearances on Glee and Sordid Lives, she has had an illustrious career on the pop and country vocal scene with chart-topping songs like "Physical," "I Honestly Love You," and "Have You Never Been Mellow."
Earlier this year, Newton-John, who has been a long-time friend to the LGBT community, publically declared her support in favor of marriage equality in Australia.
"We are thrilled with our performer line-up this year," Market Days chairman and owner of the The Gourmet Grape Jeff Durbin told ChicagoPride.com. "It is always a challenge to find the right mix of entertainment, this year, I believe we have knocked it out of the ballpark."
More than 40 artists will perform on the festival's four stages, including music legends The Pointer Sisters and Sheena Easton, gay crooner Levi Kreis, Pussy Cat Doll Jessica Sutta, Karmin, Eric Himan and local favorites 16 Candles and Dot Dot Dot.
"The schedule has something for everyone," said Durbin.
The 31st annual Northalsted Market Days, which spans six city blocks between Belmont Avenue and Addison along Halsted St., is the largest two-day street fair in the Midwest and a premiere event for both locals and tourist alike.
The event runs 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. both Saturday, August 11 and Sunday, August 12, 2012.
