Chicago, IL -
Last night on "Jimmy Kimmel Live", eighth-season "American Idol" runner-up and glam rocker Adam Lambert performed two songs off of his upcoming album Trespassing.
According to Billboard Magazine, Lambert played a five-song set to almost one thousand fans gathered in the parking lot behind the famous El Capitan theater on Hollywood Boulevard.
Although he performed five tracks, only two were aired on Kimmel.
On Thursday night's Kimmel show, Lambert performed a new single "Never Close Your Eyes."
In addition, he performed the title track from his new album "Trespassing."
In 2009, shortly after he was named the American Idol runner-up, Lambert confirmed that he was gay in a Rolling Stone cover story interview.
Earlier this year,in an interview with UK music news magazine Pressparty, Lambert said, "I still long for the LGBT community's diversity to be more broadly represented in the entertainment industry. I think larger strides have been made in film and TV but we still are just at the beginning with mainstream music. I consider myself a post-gay man working in a pre-gay industry", recognizing that despite all of the social progress made in the United States, there was still a long way to go in the music industry.
Lambert's new album "Trespassing" will be available on May 15.
