New York City -
KOCH Records is thrilled to announce the release of "Rollercoaster," the new album by "American Idol" Top Ten Finalist Jim Verraros. The album will be released on April 26, 2005. Verraros wrote and recorded the new album with producer Gabe Lopez, and fellow "Idol" finalist Angela Peel lent a hand on songwriting and vocals for four of the album's tracks. "Rollercoaster" is a straight-up pop record that will be sure to please Verraros' fans and new fans around the world.
Verraros has been seen on the 2002 American Idols Live Tour from Fox's hit show. Jim's popularity accelerated when he was featured in the "The Advocate" in 2003 to the enthusiasm of his young gay and straight fans. That same year, Verraros released an independent CD, "Unsaid & Understood," which won the Out Music Award for Outstanding New Recording Debut - Male. Songs on the album were on mp3.com's Top 40 Rock Chart and Top 25 Pop Chart, hitting 10,000 plays after only two months.
Verraros is currently featured in the indie film "Eating Out," released by Ariztical Entertainment. Written and directed by Allan Brocka, the film also stars Emily Stiles, "General Hospital"'s Ryan Carnes and Rebekah Kochan. The film has recently won Best Feature Film at the Frameline San Francisco International Lesbian & Gay Film Festival, the Rhode Island International Film Festival, the Rome Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, and the Phoenix International Film Festival, among others. Besides playing a major role in the film, Verraros contributed two songs to the soundtrack that also appear on this new release. The feature film will be released nationwide on April 8th, 2005.
