Lesbian comedienne Kate McKinnon is joining the cast of Saturday Night Live.
McKinnon is SNL's first openly gay cast member since Terry Sweeney was hired in 1985, reports Deadline.
McKinnon is known for her peformances on LOGO's "Big Gay Sketch Show."
She will debut on Saturday, April 7, on a show hosted by Sofia Vergara.
