Former 'Growing Pains' star Kirk Cameron calls homosexuality 'detrimental, unnatural'

Sat. March 3, 2012

Washington, D.C. - Former "Growing Pains" star Kirk Cameron is facing a growing furor over his comments that homosexuality is "unnatural" and "detrimental."

Cameron made the comments during an interview with Piers Morgan on CNN.

Cameron is a born-again Christian who hosts an evangelical show called "The Way of the Master." He has also appeared in evangelical movies including "Left Behind: World at War."

"I think that [homosexuality] is unnatural. I think it's detrimental and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization," he said."

He also said he was opposed to gay marriage.

"In this interview, Kirk Cameron sounds even more dated than his 1980's TV character," GLAAD fired back.
