Gay man found brutally murdered in Scotland

Tue. October 25, 2011

Ayrshire, Scotland - Police in Scotland are investigating the brutal murder of a gay bartender named Stuart Walker.

Walker, 28, was found in an industrial area of Ayrshire on Saturday morning. He had been beaten and then burned alive. Police described the injuries to the Daily Telegraph as "horrific."

Walker was last seen near a fire station around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, about two and a half hours before he was found.

Police are looking for witnesses who might have seen him between then and 5 a.m., when his body was discovered. They are also checking surveillance cameras, which are abundant in Europe.

There were a few house parties in a nearby development at the time of his murder, so police are also checking with those hosts and partygoers.

Walker was described as a "great guy" who "put a smile on everybody's else's face" on a Facebook page established in his memory.
