Chicago, IL -
If supply and demand laws follow their usual trend, pot smokers in Chicago could soon see a price increase following a seizure today.
Chicago Police Narcotics officers recovered approximately 7,000 pounds of cannabis from a warehouse in the city's West Englewood neighborhood earlier today. Acting on an anonymous tip, CPD Narcotics personnel discovered bundles of cannabis secreted among pallets of herbs.
According to Chicago Police Department Office of News Affairs, a systematic search of the warehouse yielded cannabis bundled and hidden among pallets of cilantro. In total, officers recovered approximately 7,000 pounds of marijuana, which has a street value estimated at $20 million.
No one is in custody at this time and the investigation is on-going.
