Miley Cyrus incites haters on Twitter with new tattoo

Mon. August 1, 2011

Chicago, IL - Disney superstar Miley Cyrus last Friday tweeted a photo of her new tattoo, an equal sign on her right ringer finger with the caption "All LOVE is equal," but little did the singer know she'd incite a battle over gay rights.

Shortly after her pro-gay tweet, a Christian fan using the alias @MileyCyrusLuver snapped back citing Bible versus against homosexuality.

Cyrus replied, "Where does it say in the bible to judge others? Oh right. It doesn't. GOD is the only judge honey. GOD is love."

A Twitter battle then erupted with most condemning @MileyCyrusLuver. Cyrus later intervened by tweeting, "Dude everyone lay off @MileyCyrusLuver Love u! Everyone is entitled 2 opinion!"

In 2010, Cyrus quit Twitter telling Parade magazine that she was getting angry tweets from fans who didn't agree with her support of gay marriage.

"There has been so much controversy sometimes about what I've said or done because I believe there are no mistakes because God is the only one who can judge us," she told Parade. "That's the reason I deleted my Twitter account because I said on there that I believed in gay marriage because everyone should have the right to love each other, and I got such hate mail about my being a bad person."

Cyrus returned to Twitter earlier this year.
