PrideFest Milwaukee, June 10 -12

Milwaukee, WI - For the last twenty-four years, a dedicated group of volunteers has organized what has grown to become one of the largest pride experiences on permanent festival grounds. That event, PrideFest Milwaukee.

The three day festival, which takes place this weekend on the Summerfest grounds along Milwaukee's lakefront, has become a summer destination for the Midwest's LGBT community and is known for securing quality entertainment.

"It's like a Gay Lollapalooza," Entertainment Director David Charpentier joked with ChicagoPride.com. "We have an incredibly diverse lineup this year."

Entertainment includes Oscar winning actress/comedienne Mo'nique on June 10; the legendary ladies of hip hop, Salt-N-Pepa on June 11 and Country/Pop superstar LeAnn Rimes w/special guest Chely Wright on June 12. While these headliners shine on the Miller Lite Main Stage, well-known DJ 's Dave Aude' and Chris Cox headline the PUMP! Dance Pavilion.

Chicago-based artists at the festival this year include Katie Quick, Katie Todd, Windy City Beauties, Jade, Miss Foozie, International Mr. Leather, Chicago Gay Men's Chorus, DJ Brett Locascio, DJ Psycho-Bitch, DJ Teri Bristol, Pulsation Band, Girl Next Door, The Heat Birds, The Duke of Uke and His Novelty Orchestra, and many others.

"The Chicago market has consistently been one of our strongest attenders of our festival," said Charpentier.

Organizers are thrilled to again offer entertainment on 8 different stages, including areas for Family and children, health and wellness, Arts and Culture, LGBT History, youth activities, dance, music, magic, theatre, and more. Festival attendees can shop at more than 200 Food and Merchandise Vendors, take part in commitment ceremonies, hear political talks, discover a new favorite musician, and cheer on volleyball teams as they battle it out in the 2011 PrideFest Volleyball tournament.

Admission tickets to the fest are available online at a discount up until opening day, when attendees can also purchase tickets at the gate.

"One of our best deals is the three day weekend pass for only $40" said PrideFest President Scott Gunkel. "People always come back, even when they thought they were only going to come for one day, so it's definitely worth getting."

Last year the event closed with a record 30,358 in attendance.

PrideFest Milwaukee is June 10, 11 and 12. Tickets, entertainment lineup, directions, and information can be found online at www.pridefest.com or on a smartphone at www.pridefest.com/webapp.
