Los Angeles, CA -
In an interview with ABC News, Emmy award-winning actress and comedian Kathy Griffin goes after reality TV star and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for calling her a "has-been comedian" and "bully."
During an appearance on Fox News this week, Palin took Griffin to task for bullying her daughter, Willow, during one of her performances.
"She's a 50-year-old adult bully, really is what she is," Palin said, "kind of a has-been comedienne."
After noting the comment was coming from a "has-been" political figure and current reality TV star, Griffin said on Thursday's Nightline: "If you think a comedian is a bully, then what that tells me is you've never been bullied. To throw that word around -- when I do my work with the LGBT community, I'm talking about the guy from Rutgers. I'm talking about the real stuff. She's playing a different game."
Griffin, a long-time advocate of the LGBT community, has chastised Palin's 16-year-old daughter for posting a homophobic slur on Facebook.
"When I was asked, you know, who are you going to make fun of this year, I was like, how about someone who goes on Facebook and calls someone the F-word?" Griffin said. "If you're going to do that, you're going to hear from me."
Willow reportedly wrote a number of Facebook posts containing homophobic slurs.
During her appearance on Fox News, Palin also complained that Griffin will be playing a Palin-inspired character on an upcoming episode of Fox's Glee.
Griffin continues to promote her upcoming Broadway debut show, "Kathy Griffin Wants a Tony."
