Hundreds of AIDS advocates are in Springfield today to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS in their regions and build support for key AIDS policy issues.
The 2011 Illinois HIV/AIDS Lobby Days, which is now in its eleventh year, began Tuesday and continues through today.
Advocates are learning about the issues facing the community and how to fight for sound AIDS policy and to talk to legislators who will vote on bills that affect HIV/AIDS funding and everyday quality of life.
The AIDS Foundation of Chicago has sent a fleet of buses from Chicago to Springfield.
Last year over 225 advocates participated.
