Dallas, TX -
The Cedar Springs Merchant Association (C.S.M.A.) announces the first GLBT sports-themed street party on the eve of the Super Bowl. The Cedar Springs Super Street Party presented by Bud Light will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2011. The street party begins at 7:00 pm on Cedar Springs Road, between Reagan and Throckmorton Streets. The street closes to traffic beginning at 5:00 pm and reopens at 3:00 am. The Cedar Springs Merchants will be open for business and the street closure will not affect any pedestrian traffic along the street.
Free admission to the public includes live entertainment, food vendors, games, and, of course, plenty of Bud Light. Local GLBT sports organizations, including Pegasus Slow Pitch Softball, Dallas Independent Volleyball Association, Dallas Diablos, Texas Gay Rodeo Association, and the Oak Lawn Bowling Association, will be providing membership and general information during the event.
Along with the activities, there will be live entertainment by Chaz Marie and the Band on the Bud Light main stage. Local DJ's will be playing popular hits during the live entertainment breaks. And Michael Holtz, Compete Magazine's "Gay Athlete of the Year" will emcee the event, as well as host a meet and greet.
"The Super Street Party is not only a perfect opportunity to spotlight Cedar Springs and all we have to offer, but also introduce the world to the most outstanding GLBT Community anywhere," says Scott Whittall, President of the C.S.M.A. "Nobody knows hospitality like our Dallas GLBT Family. Besides it's time for everyone to know that we love sports as much as anyone! Definitely enough to throw the gayest Super Street Party this country has ever seen."
The event is presented by Bud Light and is a beautification fundraiser for Cedar Springs. For information regarding the event or to schedule an interview with Scott Whittall, President of the C.S.M.A., Chaz Marie, or Michael Holtz, contact David Berryman with Bravo Event Group of Texas.
