Pants free today on subways worldwide

Chicago, LA and DC are three of 50 cities participating in the annual No Pants on the Subway day

Chicago, IL - Don't be shocked if you see a crowd of people without pants riding on your subway commute today, it's all part of a worldwide event.

Chicago, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. riders are joining subway riders from 50 cities in 24 countries for the 10th anniversary of No Pants Subway Ride.



The Chicago event begins today at Noon from the roof of the CVS parking garage, 1210 W. Arthur, on the corner of Arthur and Sheridan near Loyola University in Rogers Park.

After the ride around 3 p.m., riders will meet for a post-ride reception at Five Guys near Loyola.

The No Pants Subway Ride was started in 2002 by Improv Everywhere in New York City.

According to the

Chicago group's Facebook page
as of Sunday morning, 705 people are planning to participate. Temperatures in Chicago around Noon are expected to be near 25 degrees.



Participants in

Los Angeles
are encouraged to be at Union Station by 2 p.m. The main ride will begin in downtown LA and will tavel westbound on the Red Line to Hollywood. Temperatures in LA will be near 55 degrees.



And

Washington, DC
will again be celebrating with No Pants on the Metro, with nearly 1,200 expected to take part. Participants should be at Union Station by 2 p.m. High temperatures will be 33 degrees in DC at the time of the event.

Cobalt, 1639 R Street, NW, is hosting the DC after-party.
