Kathy Griffin ends ‘My Life on the D-List', gets new Bravo comedy special

Wed. January 5, 2011

Los Angeles, CA - Apparently no longer D-List material, Kathy Griffin has officially confirmed that her Emmy Award-winning Bravo show, Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, is over after six successful years.

"It was a really tough decision because I think of the D-List as pretty much my baby for the last six seasons," Griffin told People magazine. "[But] I also think it was really time to stop doing it. Reality is great, but I really didn't set out to be a reality star."

Griffin is heading back on the road for a comedy tour and Bravo has already signed the 50-year old comedienne for an unprecedented four stand up specials in 2011, the first of which will film in Milwaukee in early February.

"I just cannot get enough or do enough stand-up," she told the magazine.

The Chicago-native headlined Milwaukee Pride Fest last summer and she remains an outspoken supporter for LGBT rights, including same-sex marriage. She protested against Prop 8 and volunteered for the LA Gay and Lesbian Center's "Vote for Equality" campaign. She also has been a long-time supporter of the Aid For AIDS annual fundraiser, Best In Drag Show in Los Angeles, and hosted the opening of the show for more than five years.

My Life on the D-List's sixth season ended in August, but re-runs air Tuesday at 10 p.m. (ET) on Bravo.
