Fri. April 9, 2004

Boystown Residents Urged to Remain Cautious

Chicago, IL - Chicago Police Thursday released a composite sketch (pictured right) they hope will help them find a man wanted for questioning in a brutal murder in Lakeview.

Investigators call him a "person of interest" and describe him as a Male White Hispanic, approx. 25 years old, 5' 7" tall, slim / athletic build, speaks with a Hispanic or European Spanish accent.

Kevin Clewer, 31, was found dead on March 24 in his apartment bedroom in the 3400 block of North Elaine. Clewer was found naked, stabbed in the back 30 times. There was no signs of forced entry.

A similar murder in August 2003 has some in the Gay community questioning whether a serial killer may be on the loose. (Story)

Chicago Police on Wednesday issued a community alert (Details) for those living in Lakeview (Boystown).

Police ask anyone with information to call Belmont Area Detectives at 312-744-8261.
