Popular morning radio personality DreX is out at Clear Channel's contemporary-hit WKSC-FM 103.5. Since arriving from San Antonio in 2003, Kevin "DreX" Buchar has been an outspoken ally for Chicago's LGBT community both on-and-off-the-air.
Clear Channel is not talking about the surprising exit, but mention of DreX has been removed from the station's web site and the "DreX in the Morning" Facebook fan page has disappeared. The company has been making cost-saving cuts at stations nationwide.
The morning show, which included DreX, Mel T, Angi Taylor and producer Tommy Black, has consistently ranked as one of the top rated radio shows in Chicago and a top draw for 1035 KISS-FM.
DreX signed a 5 year contract with Clear Channel in 2009 reportedly worth $400,000 a year. No word on what will happen to Mel T and Taylor, who both also signed new contracts in 2009.
After arriving in Chicago, DreX participated in the 2004 Chicago Pride Parade aboard the ChicagoPride.com float. 1035 KISS-FM and DreX have since participated each year in the parade.
DreX was known to regularly promote diversity through his radio show.

DreX has worked in San Francisco, York/Lancaster/Harrisburg, PA, Philadelphia, San Antonio, Dallas, Detroit and Chicago.
