More than 650 eager fans show for Ricky Martin book signing at Borders

Chicago, IL - International superstar Ricky Martin flew the red eye Friday morning to Chicago from his previous night's appearance at the Latin Grammys in Las Vegas to sign copies of his new memoir, entitled Me, at the Lincoln Park Borders, 2817 N Clark St.

It was a long day for everyone as more than 650 eager fans, some arriving as early at 3 a.m. Friday morning, purchased the new book and waited to meet the singer. The line stretched around the bookshelves with people ranging in age from grandmothers to small children. One Latino gay fan cried as he related how much Ricky's emersion from the closet meant to him personally.

The book, which is also available in a Spanish version, entitled Yo, describes the spiritual journey and process of coming out publicly for the 38-year-old Puerto Rican singing sensation.

Martin's book tour has taken him to Miami, New York, Los Angeles and on to Puerto Rico.

With a new album on the way, Martin shows no sign of slowing down his vida loca.

You can purchase Me at Borders Bookstores or online at borders.com.
