Members of the rubber fetish world from across the United States will converge on Chicago this weekend for Mr. International Rubber, the preeminent annual men's rubber fetish event held each November in Chicago.
For years the fetish community has made the annual autumn trip to the Windy City for the event that started at Cell Block 14 years ago.
The competition to name a new Mister International Rubber takes place on Friday, Nov 5 and Saturday, Nov 6 in the Hoover-Leppen Theater at the Center.
In addition to the annual competition there are a number of related events happening throughout the weekend. Plus vendors from around the globe will be offering their rubber wares in the Kink Market.
Friday, November 5
Noon-7 p.m. The MIR Kink Market and Social; Billie Jean King Recreation Center at The Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted St. Vendors from around the globe offer their wares for sale and trial in the kink market. Meet some new friends in the Kinkster Lounge, watch or participate in a demo in the rubber playground.
Noon-7 p.m. MIR2011 Registration and Individual Ticket Sales, The Harris Family Foundation Reception Hall at The Center on Halsted. Pick up your weekend package at the Center on Halsted beginning today.
7-9 p.m. The "Greet the Meat" Cocktail Party, The Harris Family Foundation Reception Hall of The Center on Halsted. You are are invited to a cocktail hour prior to the start of the MIR2011 Contest; a light buffet is included.
9-11 p.m. The Mr. International Rubber 2011 Contest – opening ceremonies, The Hoover-Leppen Theater at The Center on Halsted. Your first chance to meet the contestants for Mr. International Rubber 2011. The judges are introduced, contestants select their order of competition and are judged in the first category of competition, "Rubber Image."
Saturday, November 6
Noon-7 p.m. MIR2011 Registration and Individual Ticket Sales, The Harris Family Foundation Reception Hall of The Center on Halsted. Pick-up your weekend package at the Center on Halsted.
Noon-7 p.m. The MIR Kink Market, Social and Chicago Rubbermen Gear Sale, The Billie Jean King Recreation Center of The Center on Halsted. Vendors from around the globe offer their wares for sale and trial in the kink market. Meet some new friends in the Kinkster Lounge, watch or participate in a demo in the rubber playground. If you have fetish gear that you haven't worn in a while and are looking to sell it, don't waste your time with online auctions; sell it at the Chicago Rubbermen Gear Sale!
2-3 p.m. The MIR Rubber Pup Rumpus, The Billie Jean King Recreation Center of The Center on Halsted. The rubber pups and their handlers take over the demo space for this MIR Pup Rumpus. Let your primal urges be your guide as your manimal instinct takes over. Pups and handlers both welcome.
8 p.m. Mr. International Rubber 2011 Contest, The Hoover Leppen Theater of The Center on Halsted. The exciting conclusion to the Mr. International Rubber Contest. Includes judging of onstage question, "mystery-bag" and audience participation. A new Mister International Rubber is sashed this evening!
Sunday, November 7

2-3 p.m. Lubed Up Latex Wrestling, The Billie Jean King Recreation Center of The Center on Halsted. It may be the last day of MIR, but there are a few rumbles left to be settled. Vendors and sponsors pit their representatives against each other in the ultimate lube wrestling contest. Odds are in your favor as this is one event you wont want to miss.
