Angel Saez Amador, a Chicago-based entertainer and regular at The Baton Show Lounge, is looking to add to his long list of titles.
He already has claimed:
Mr. Universo Latino USA, 2009;
Mr. Continental, 2013;
Mr. Gay USofA, 2018;
Mr. Universo Latino USA Classic, 2021;
Glamorous Legends, 2022; and
All American Gent, 2023, among others.
Now he’s going for one of the most prestigious national titles in the country, King, a pageant title to be awarded Dec. 14 in New Orleans. The title is geared to create visibility and awareness of the system through national walks, networking events and multiple Pride parades.
“It will be an honor to represent this title across the country,” said Amador, 48, who entertains at The Baton four times per week. “It is quite (an) intense competition, (including) a category I’ve never done: Sportswear.”
Still, he’s confident, based on his experience and resiliency. And, just like past pageants he’s participated in, Amador is dedicating months of hard work and preparation.
Amador, who also is a fitness instructor at the Chicago Athletic Clubs, married Eli Méndez in July 2016 at The Baton and they have been together for 14 years.
Amador is seeking financial support for his run to be King. Donations can be made with Zelle, Cash App, Venmo. Links are on the image above.
