DJ Jesus Montanez returns to Chicago on Saturday, August 3, for another high-energy, multi-hour set at Hydrate Nightclub in Lakeview.
He starts at 11 p.m.
“I am very excited to be back in Chicago. I have been working in a lot of new music, so I am super excited to premiere them at the amazing Funktion One System at Hydrate,” said Montanez, who lives in Guadalajara, Mexico.
He was last in Chicago about three months ago – and he confirmed his next Chicago set after this Saturday will be on New Year’s Eve.
“It’s summer in Chicago, so it is always fun to come and play during this season because the people are always out and having fun. Be sure to hydrate because we are going to dance and sweat this weekend,” Montanez said. “DJing in Chicago is very special. Every single time I prepare a lot of my music because there are people from around the world living in this city. For me, it is always a challenge to bring all these cultures together and have a fun night; sometimes people worry or complain if the music is too slow, dark, vocal or too energetic, but my goal is always to make people dance and have fun, forget about all their problems and just have a good time; that is what really matters for me.”
Montanez will arrive in Chicago on Friday and depart on Monday, so he can “enjoy the city and hangout with good friends,” he said. “We usually go out to different nightclubs and bars so we can experience different music, vibes and of course check out the cocktails.”
Montanez said his favorite Chicago DJing memory was at a past Northalsted Market Days. In fact, he said it was “one of the top memories of my career,” he said.
Montanez added: “I am forever grateful for all the opportunities to come back to this beautiful city; I want to thank you all for your support, I really appreciate it.”
