2Bears Tavern Group announced the addition of the Marty’s Martini Bar brand to its tavern line-up, which includes 2Bears Tavern Uptown, Jackhammer, Meeting House Tavern and The Sofo Tap.
“We are delighted to welcome Marty’s into the 2Bears Tavern Group family,” Mark Robertson, co-founder of 2Bears Tavern Group, said in a press release. “Marty’s has long been a cherished venue in Chicago, and we are committed to preserving its unique character while enhancing the overall experience for our guests. This aligns perfectly with our vision of creating inclusive and memorable nightlife destinations.”
With the new ownership, 2Bears Tavern Group announced plans to move the beloved bar to a new location. Marty’s last day of operation at its current location will be September 2 and it will reopen at 1477 W. Winnemac, which is the former Boca Loca Cantina location adjacent to Meeting House.
“I look forward to Marty’s Martini Bar flourishing at its new location,” said Marty Rogo, who created Marty’s Martini Bar and opened it in 2004. “2Bears Tavern Group is a great fit for the next chapter in the Marty’s brand.”
Marty’s Martini Bar has been a cornerstone of the community and the new owners said they aim to honor the legacy.
2Bears Tavern Group plans to continue the Sunday Martinis that Matter charitable giving program and is dedicated to retaining Marty’s talented staff and upholding the high standards of service that patrons have come to expect from Marty’s Martini Bar, according to the press release.
“Our goal is to ensure that Marty’s Martini Bar continues to be a place where everyone feels welcome and can enjoy exceptional drinks and a fantastic atmosphere,” said Mike Sullivan, 2Bears Tavern Group co-founder. “We are excited to embark on this new chapter and look forward to serving both long-time patrons and new guests.”
Marty’s Martini Bar at 1511 W. Balmoral will continue to operate without interruption at its current location through September 2.
