DJ Arno Diem, who lives in Los Angeles and was born and raised in France, is set to make his debut at Hydrate Nightclub in the Lakeview area of Chicago commonly called Boystown.
Diem brings the beats to welcome 2024 as he is the music master for Hydrate’s New Year’s Eve shenanigans, Contact: NYE.
“I am beyond excited … I cannot wait,” said Diem, 35, who has been living in the U.S. for 10 years.
He is a classically trained musician and singer songwriter who moved to the U.S. to pursue acting and then started doing videography and ended up filming most circuit parties around the world. When the pandemic hit in 2020, he bought equipment and was self-trained at home as a DJ.
His first gig as a DJ was in Las Vegas and he admittedly was “extremely nervous.”
“My friend Edith Castillo hired me (and) made me feel grounded, welcome and gave me the platform and opportunity to express this new art form,” he said.
Diem is now on rotation DJing in Palm Springs, San Francisco, Miami, France and elsewhere.
And when the clock strikes midnight on January 1st, Diem said the Hydrate crowd will feature “lots of fun, smiles, dancing, happiness, and uplifting energy. I have only (previously) played afterhours for New Year’s Eve, so it will be a surprise for myself too,” what will be played,” to welcome 2024.
Diem is coming to Chicago from France, where he will be celebrating Christmas with his family. “I will be recharged and beyond excited to be in the club again and celebrate the new year with you guys,” he said.
When asked about Chicago, Diem said it is a “beautiful city with beautiful energy.”
