Thousands rally in Sacramento against homosexuality and abortion

Sat. September 4, 2010

Sacramento, Calif. - Thousands of conservative Christians gathered at California's capitol building on Saturday, to rally against homosexuality, abortion and prostitution.

The rally in Sacramento was part of a movement called "Call to Conscience," being led by Lou Engle.

Engle and his followed prayed for 12 hours.

"Our society is so broken, prayer and fasting is the only way it can be fixed," 25-year-old Ashley Haley, 25 told the Fresno Bee. "God is the only one who can fix America."

Engle's target on Saturday was Judge Vaughn Walker, the man who overturned California's voter-approved Prop. 8 ban on gay marriage.

On his website, Engle compares Walker to "a little God" who "has made himself like God and lifted himself up as the soul arbiter of truth."
