A child and an adult were subjected to anti-LGBTQ slurs being hurled at them in McFarland, Wis. after the adult answered the doorbell last Thursday.
Police Chief Aaron Chapin announced that they arrested Cory Mellum, 24; Bradley Behling, 24; and Malik Yrios, 23. They are now in Dane County Jail.
They were charged with disorderly conduct but added hate crime enhancers to the charges. It is similar to adding aggravated status to charges in other jurisdictions like Cook County, Ill.
Chapin said that the home in which the child and adult lived was randomly picked by the three suspects.
