U.S. troops are apparently not all that interested in sharing their feelings on the gay military ban known as "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
The Washington Post reports that of the 400,000 troops who got the surveys, only a quarter have actually filled them out.
The deadline to return the surveys is Sunday, August 15.
Additionally, 67,000 military members and their spouses have gone online to share their comments, according to CNN.
Some LGBT groups discouraged their own military members from responding to the survey, out of concern that they might be outed by their responses.
The military is paying an outside contractor $4.5 million to handle the survey, since "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" would be violated if the military actually asked the questions.
The information will be used in a report on lifting the gay troop ban being put together by the Pentagon. The report is due to President Obama on December 1.
