EQIL searching for 200 volunteers for Market Days

Tue. July 13, 2010

Chicago, IL - Equality Illinois has issued a request for volunteers to donate their time during the Northalsted Market Days on August 7th and 8th as part of an effort to secure a major contribution for their continued work for LGBT equality.

Over 200 volunteers are needed to staff at designated gate entry during the two-day street festival. Food and drink will be provided for volunteers.

Equality Illinois says securing the contribution will help in upcoming efforts to secure passage of the Civil Union bill, fighting hate crimes, and fostering schools free of bullying and harassment.

Those interested in participating or with further questions should contact Devon Magliozzi at the Equality Illinois office, 773-477-7173.

More information and the volunteer shift schedule is available at www.eqil.org.

Market Days, presented by the Northalsted Business Alliance, is the largest street-fair in the Midwest and takes place annually on North Halsted between Belmont and Addison.
