In recognition of World AIDS Day, December 1, 2003, and to honor all those who have helped advance HIV/AIDS research during the last 20 years, ChicagoPride.com has created this list of Chicago organizations which provide information about and support for those living with HIV/AIDS. World AIDS Day, founded by the World Health Organization in 1988, focuses global attention on the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

Five people worldwide die of AIDS every minute of every day. HIV has hit every corner of the globe, infecting more than 42 million men, women and children, 5 million of them last year alone.
