The legendary Northalsted Halloween Parade, where hundreds of costumed participants march down the streets of Boystown, returns this Thursday, Oct. 31 under the theme 'Haunted Halsted'.
Organizers invite ghouls, goblins, zombies and all haunted beings to go above and beyond for this year's parade theme with competitive costume contest award winners being named in six categories: Scary, Drag, Creative, Youth, Cosplay, and Group (online registration open now. Participants can also register on-site from 6:30 - 7:15 p.m. at North Halsted and Belmont.
After the parade, everyone is encouraged to keep the party going long into the night after the parade by visiting the haunts along North Halsted in Boystown.
Now in its 23rd year, The Northalsted Halloween Parade is sponsored by the Northalsted Business Alliance, the same group behind Chicago Pride Fest and Northalsted Market Days.
UPDATE: Despite the weather forecast for rain and snow, organizers said the parade will not be canceled.
