After a four-year hiatus, the AIDS Foundation of Chicago's signature spring gala, "Not Just Song and Dance", returned to commemorate a significant milestone for the organization, 25 years as a driving force in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
1,100 attendees and volunteers danced the night away this past Saturday at the Chicago Hilton and Towers while raising $500,000 to help people living with or at risk of HIV/AIDS.
The night included a special performance by the iconic music group, The Bangles. With a long list of hit songs, such as "Walk Like an Egyptian," "Manic Monday," and "Eternal Flame," The Bangles made their mark in music history as one of the greatest all-female bands ever.
Marking its 25th anniversary this year, the AIDS Foundation of Chicago is a driving force in the worldwide fight against HIV/AIDS. Founded in 1985, by community activists and physicians, AFC collaborates with community organizations to develop and improve HIV/AIDS services; funds and coordinates prevention, care, and advocacy projects; and champions effective, compassionate HIV/AIDS policy.
