NUNN ON THE RUN

Rainbows are everywhere in June

Rainbows are everywhere this June but should be celebrated year-round. The rainbow flag has become a powerful symbol for the LGBTQ+ community and unifies the group together in solidarity.

The colors reflect a spectrum of diversity and were originally assembled by an artist named Gilbert Baker in 1978. Over the years the flag has evolved a bit and recently had additional colors added for further representation.

Currently, it can reflect safety for many and signal to others when someone is an ally or a part of the LGBTQ+ population.

For those that don't know each color means something different. Pink stands for sex, red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, turquoise for magic, indigo for serenity and violet for spirit.

Crystal Head has shown its true colors by offering a limited-edition Pride bottle. This decorative addition to any party holds smooth ingredients such as Aurora Canadian corn, Onyx Blue Weber Agave and English wheat. We can thank actor Dan Aykroyd and artist John Alexander for moving this project forward and supporting the community year-round. Some of their partners include The Test Positive Awareness Network, Kaleidoscope Trust and Lurie Children's Hospital Transgender Youth Program, among others.

Keep the party going by mixing vodka with Red Bull Energy Drink. It comes with a wide array of colors and the variety pack is the way to go. The watermelon flavor is refreshing and smooth. The blueberry one is easily the most drinkable and the coconut flavor is lighter than one might think. When I am marching the Pride parade this Nunn needs wings, so I can usually be spotted sipping one to my spirits up and moving!

Macy's raises the roof on rainbows with some out and proud outfits. Stroll over to 111 North State Street in Chicago to view the newly decorated windows.

Macy's Pride + Joy campaign gives back to The Trevor Project in support of LGBTQ+ youth. Customers may donate online or round up their purchase amounts at the store level to benefit the world's largest suicide prevention and mental health organization for young people. So far Macy's has raised more than $3.3 million to assist with the mission. Now that is putting your money where your mouth is.
