Spectrum Bar and Grill provides a rainbow of delights

Spectrum Bar and Grill has been providing a delicious rainbow of delights for over 30 years and there are no signs of stopping anytime soon. If one is craving a late-night hot spot, then look no further than Spectrum at 233 S. Halsted St. with hours of operation from 3 p.m. to 4 a.m. every day of the week. 

The Greektown area is located in the Near West Side of Chicago and has something for everyone including restaurants like this one, nightclubs and many places to shop. Parking can be tricky in this bustling region of the city these days so plan ahead!

Once you are settled get ready to party with the staff of Spectrum Bar and Grill. The light-up sign rotates in colors in the front of the hot spot just above the floor-to-ceiling windows. The massive bar fills a big portion of the dining room keeping the focus on the various sports games playing on the television sets. 

A live band plays at scheduled times to add to the already festive atmosphere and has patrons grooving to some classic tunes. During the month of March, a signature cocktail is offered called the Ouzo Blue Cocktail to spread even more cheer this year. 

Start off with Spectrum's flaming saganaki. With just a splash of brandy and a lighter, your server will make fireworks right at your table by igniting the Greek cheese, OPA!

Looking for a sampler? Order the Mediterranean Platter with hummus, Greek olives, tomatoes and cucumbers. The skewers should come next with the chicken or steak shishkabob platter. The charbroiled lamb chops are a must-try item and served with rice or fries. 

Wash things down with a glass of white or red wine mainly chosen from the Beringer Vineyards in St. Helena, California. There are a few Greek wines presented on the wine list as well. 

The menu is massive and your experienced sever will be happy to guide guests along in choosing selections. Spectrum does need desserts for those craving a little chocolate to pair with the smooth coffee offered in this late-night establishment. 

The month of celebrations ends on Friday, March 25 with a virtual event rerun from last year's 200th anniversary on social media channels. 

Look for a Taste of Greektown to return to the area for the 31st time on August 26-28, 2022.
