Chicago Lights shines in the city

The future looks bright for people thanks to Chicago Lights programming and assistance. The nonprofit at Fourth Presbyterian Church provides support for youth development and social services for adults. This organization has grown over the years after the tutoring program was founded in 1964.

To raise money and provide more relief to others, Chicago Lights and the Replogle Center for Counseling held a fundraiser on March 4 at the Ritz-Carlton. 

A cocktail reception kicked the night off with a silent auction and open bar. Guests mingled and stopped at the step and repeat for photo opportunities. 

At 7 p.m. a seated dinner began with announcements and speeches. Stories were told by various speakers to convey the important message of hope that the program continues to give to others. 

A live auction commenced along with general donations where attendees could raise their number to bid and contribute money. 

The Ken Arlen Evolution Orchestra had the crowd dancing after dinner and desserts were dished out as a buffet near the entrance to the dining room. The silent auction stopped at 9:15 p.m. and the party ended at 11:30 p.m.

The giving doesn't end though and donations are still accepted at ChicagoLights.org. Every person can donate their time or money to help others and Chicago Lights is a shining example of doing the right thing during dark times. It has been a challenging past few years, but charity events such as the Gala of Hope continue to brighten up Chicago with fun and festivities for a good cause.
