Joy District Chicago, at 112 W. Hubbard Street, held an lively party on June 3 to celebrate the rooftop opening on the third floor. Finally, Chicagoans were able to enjoy some well deserved summer weather and masks were not required for vaccinated attendees.

An open bar was provided with light appetizers that ranged from beets to hamburger sliders. Drinks included slushy frozen mango cocktails, as well as beer and wine.

The event space has remained popular over the years and will continue to be with private parties and unique celebrations already planned for the future. While primarily a straight and twenty something clientele, Joy District welcomes all with the LGBTQIA+ community well represented in the staff and guests.

Disco decorations inspired by CircuitMOM Productions and greenery lifted from the local, now closed, Rainforest Cafe was brought in by designer Robin Cook to make a lush and secluded area on the third floor.

Bottle service and themed parties are all part of the fun, along with a festive DJ to crank out the tunes. Seating includes large booths with some privacy depending on location or stand at high top tables to be seen by onlookers.

The roof is closed on Mondays, but the party begins on Tuesday running through Friday with times starting from 5 p.m. until Midnight. Saturdays and Sunday the party begins early at 11 a.m. and goes until 12 a.m. Dive into the brunch menu during those specific early afternoon hours.
