Nobody's Darling is everybody's new joy

Formerly in the Joie De Vine space, at 1744 W. Balmoral Avenue, Nobody's Darling is a welcome new addition to the Andersonville neighborhood. In a city that struggles to host queer women spaces, the two owners are both openly lesbian and keeping it in the family.

Angela Barnes and Renauda Riddle opened Nobody's Darling on May 20, 2021 and the place is already hopping in a short amount of time! Word of mouth in the neighborhood has been been stellar and Riddle mentioned how pleased she is with the eager response that locals have shown at a recent visit.

The duo juggle being a lawyer and an auditor by day and now bar owners at night, but are determined to make their dream come true. The two are working hard for the money, so let's support and treat them right!

The establishment is named after an Alice Walker poem titled Be Nobody's Darling. The owners were inspired by the outcast theme of Walker's writings and have now created a space to welcome everyone.

Cocktails are inspired by iconic women of color, such as the Jos Baker Manhattan, and guests will see pictures of talented singers like Lena Horne adorn the bathroom walls.

There are some seasonal drinks such as the A. Walker Summer Martini made with Playpen Vodka. blueberry basil lemonade and lavender. That lavender will surely take away the stress and anxiety of a busy work week on a Friday night. There's also a CBD elixer in a can called superhUe if that's your style.

If you are gin drinker the Pink Kitty with sparkling wine and grapefruit will refresh your thirst and taste buds all at the same time.

Feeling hungry? Nobdy's Darling has teamed up with their neighbor Pauline's to serve up some comfort food outdoors on the patio.

Drink specials are currently offered Thursday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. plus Saturdays and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
