The Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group has a strong reputation in bringing high quality meats to the masses. With headquarters in Boston, MA, Chicago scouted the perfect location to serve their cuisine along the river.

The patio has a picturesque view of the riverfront and is the place to be in the summer. Sip on one of the new refreshing cocktails such as The Aviation containing Sipsmith gin mixed with creme de violette while dining al fresco.

Downstairs is a dry age room where steaks are stored marked with tags to identify them. Their new beef partnership with Double R Ranch has paid off. The rib eye carpaccio with arugula is great place to start a steakhouse experience. A shelffish tower filled with Alaskan king crab, clams, and oysters should be the next choice before ordering a sampling of the slightly spicing angry shrimp.

There are many cuts of meat to choose from but if you don't mind marbling the 24 ounce rib eye is tender and juicy. For a more solid tasting then go for the cowboy rib eye instead. It is huge with 44 ounces.

There are surf and turf options if one can't decide between steak or seafood. For sides try the whipped potatoes or the truffled mac & cheese.

Ask your server what wine to pair with your order. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive without being disruptive.

If there is still room in your belly order a massive piece of chocolate cake that will finish you off.
