STK lands in Chicago brought by the ONE Group Hospitality, Inc. The chain combines a club feel with a high end restaurant with some mixed results.

The staff is top notch and very knowledgeable. The onsite sommelier can help diners explore a smartly developed wine list and craft cocktails. Not Your Daddy's Manhattan adds port to the recipe, which is original and tasty. For the summer there is a refreshing drink called a Summertime Fling with rum and rose wine.

Start off with the shaved brussel sprout salad and the seas scallops with an orange puree. STK supplies a variety of seafood so split the raw bar with a friend before hitting the steaks. The dray aged bone-in strip is 18 ounces of goodness and the tomahawk is intimidating in proportion and flavor.

Strong entrees such as the braised short ribs with the cheddar grits are a must try. For sides check out the mac & cheese along with more brussel sprouts that this restaurant does so well.

For dessert the caramelito bar with marshmallow quenches that chocolate craving. With a night of drinking what is better than a bag o' donuts to finish things off?

The bill can add up quick with this hot spot so keep that in mind, but you will get what you pay for that don't sacrifice quality and price.

Many may look at this as a straight spot for a date but the team here is already becoming involved with the gay community so look for them at future LGBT events.

The entrance of the STK Chicago location doesn't stand out and is easy to miss while walking down the street. Once inside the modern decor goes for a club look with bottle service at the tables and a DJ. This will not work for everyone, but for those looking for a young and original take on a typical steakhouse experience STK at 9 W. Kenzie Street should not be overlooked.
