Madness With March Concerts

Four fierce divas played concerts in Chicago recently in four different and distinct venues.

House of Blues is an iconic place to see concerts with colorful and bright patterns adorning the walls. What an honor it must have been for new singer Tinashe to have played there.

The actress who is now cultivating a singing career was really channeling Aaliyah that night with a bare midriff and some of the same dance moves.

The crowd was young and fun who had a good time grooving to Tinashe.

Canadian Carly Rae Jepsen has one of the most underrated albums of 2015. The critics loved it but the radio hasn't showed a lot of love for it for some reason. Selling out Metro is no easy feat but Jepsen did that fairly quickly. In front of a crowd that was at least half gay and knew every word of her songs, the relaxed singer appeared with a new pixie haircut. She made it look easy and even climbed out past the barricade to say hello. Jepsen hugged many of her fans afterwards showing that her success has not gone to her head.

She returns to Chicago soon for the Pitchfork Music Festival, which should be an amazing setting to see the talented songwriter.

Sometimes an artist comes along that is destined for greatness. Like Amy Winehouse and Adele, Andra Day has a voice that is unique. Wearing satin pajamas at Lincoln Hall with a strong backing band set up a casual atmosphere. Her song "Rise Up" was a tearjerker as she sang it to a person onstage that suffers from anxiety and depression.

Day will only play bigger places so keep your eyes on this upcoming breakout star.

Speaking of a star that has risen recently is none other than Rachel Platten. She brought two opening acts that were both excellent. Her set wasn't long but it was solid. Platten seemed so surprised to see a huge crowd of screaming girls. She stated, "Last time I was here there was 50 people, who are you?" Her message worked well with the massive single "Fight Song."

"Never give up on your dreams because one moment can change things" Platten excliamed and that is something everyone can relate to.
