Ann founded the Swedish Diner with her life savings in 1946, and more than a half-century (and a new name) later, this eatery is beloved by local queers-not so much for the food as for its support of the gay community (and yes, for the cinnamon rolls). Numerous gay organizations meet in the upstairs banquet rooms and the restaurant is the location of choice for many community events. On the weekend the breakfast crowds line up.
