Lawrence Ackerman brings to his real estate practice the analytical and negotiating skills of a seasoned attorney. Mr. Ackerman is a 1985 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where he was a member of the University of Pittsburgh Law Review. He is a member of the Bar of the State of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania as well as the United States Tax Court. Following a three year clerkship with the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, Mr. Ackerman worked for the United States Department of Treasury, first in Washington D.C. and later in Chicago, Illinois, for a period of twelve years. In 2002 Lawrence Ackerman became a licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of Illinois. Larry is sensitive to the concerns of individuals moving to the Chicago area from elsewhere. He understands how challenging the house hunting process is to someone new to Chicago. The challenge comes both from the sheer size and diversity of the city as well as from the stresses of balancing a new job or school with the time needed to find a home. His goal is help clients find not only the right home but also the community in Chicago which they will want to call home. Mr. Ackerman is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He speaks Italian and has worked as an Italian interpreter at the Merchandise Mart for Italian furniture companies participating in trade shows. Prior to law school, he attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he minored in French and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science Summa Cum Laude.
