Since its inception in 1989, OPALGA (The Oak Park Area Lesbian and Gay Association) has become one of the largest community-based, multi-purpose lesbian and gay membership organizations in Illinois. OPALGA strives to foster a community wide understanding of the issues that gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people face through direct outreach and interaction with local community organizations.
