By Chelsea
Wow, first entry. I'm sure everyone says something to this effect, but it's a sincere "wow", at least as sincere as a "wow" can ever be. It's very interesting to have a blog where there is an outside force pushing for as many people as possible to read it, rather than having to advocate for yourself by leaving little notes in other people's journals saying "I like your hair!".
It's liberating, to say the least. I wasn't sure what to write in the first entry. It says to "introduce yourself to your readers" but how do I really do that? My name is Chelsea, I am 18 and I like girls. Ok, well, I guess I like boys too, but not as much as girls. On the sexuality spectrum, I'm a few jumps away from lesbian and thus still maintain bisexual status. I am not dirty, I have no inherent bisexual evil plans to cheat on you with dirty boys, and I certainly don't do it to impress guys.
But that's a topic for another entry.
I had an issue at one point where I didn't figure out that tone of voice doesn't come through in writing very effectively. I've learned to read everything I write in my head in a robot voice and see if it still makes sense, but sometimes even that method fails. So in short, just let me know if I seem incredibly lame.
Anyways.
Should I tell you my "coming out story"? Like on the L-Word?
I'm sorry, this is going to be just for L-Word viewers but weren't those coming out stories more like "first-lesbian-experience" stories? There were no "Mom, Dad, I'm gay" stories, it was all "I met this hot girl at tennis camp but I can't tell you her name cuz she's famous now" stories.
Moving on, fellow non-Shotimers (I watch at Daniela's) I guess I first knew that I was gay in freshman year. I had been thinking about it for a while, but a blonde girl in a blue dress standing in front of me at a concert (Evan and Jaron, by the way, was that ever stupid) sealed the deal. The fact that I couldn't take my eyes off of her while the rest of my friends were screaming about how cute Evan was helped. I also had many long conversations with a friend over sexuality that helped to further sort things out. She ended up baring her soul to a straight-girl, but I had figured out who I really was. I announced at Daniela's birthday party to a select few of my friends that I was bisexual, and the rest is history.
So readers, how was that for a first entry?
Let me know, leave me a note or whatever and I'll get in touch.
