For three days, people were bathed in sound in Schaumburg and were required to put their listening ears on for the latest innovations available in 2025. Audio Expo North America is a Midwest showcase for sound technology and manufacturing from around the world.
This year, the expo ran from April 10, 11 and 12 at the Schaumburg Convention Center in Illinois and featured over 700 brands. The Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel was stacked with sound on multiple floors, with listening rooms scattered throughout the hallways up to the 16th floor. Guests could roam at their leisure and take elevators to different levels for an unforgettable experience.
There were 211 listening demonstrations sprinkled throughout the venue and showrooms. Attendees ranged from consumers to dealers and they immersed themselves in a technological fever dream.
The curated setups were impressive and were constructed with a solid mission. This event was meant to bring people together and create a collaborative process where audio enthusiasts could learn and educate each other.
The Ear Gear Experience filled a large space with various headphone accessories and gear. The Car Audio Showcase allowed listeners to sit behind the wheel and groove to tunes. A Record Fair gave vinyl collectors a chance to purchase albums for a fair price.
There were two live performances this year, thanks to the Kyle Asche Organ Quartet on Friday and jazz artist Patricia Barber on Saturday.
Popular panels were hosted throughout the weekend featuring presentations on the up to date equipment and information.
Sponsors included Chicago's own Music Direct and VIP Home Theaters, among others.
For the 16th year, Axpona once again provided audio fans and experts an environment to explore and build relationships together.
Stay tuned to axpona.com as things gear up for 2026, when Axpona will be held from April 10 to 12 at the same location in Schaumburg.
