If you asked any of my friends they would tell you that this question gets asked of them by me more than any other! It is simply the most important thing to me!
How about you? Are you Making A Difference? That lifestyle is one that we can all take part in, by investing in our accountants, janitorial staff, and sandwich makers, to impacting our family, friends, and our acquaintances.
My live to give mission is one that was taught to me foremost by my wonderful Mom and Father! Not only do my parents make a daily impact on my life, with calls, cards and tremendous support, they also spend a great deal of time investing in my friends, and the community around them.
As if this weren't enough, both of my parents participate in the LGBT community through their church and civic activities. There is an area however, that really touches me to see them make a difference in. It's the little investments, kind words, human touches and listening moments that they do. Most of the time, this is done with perfect strangers. Gas station attendants, store clerks, or the people in elevators. Talk about making a difference!
Making a difference starts with those little moments where most of us would normally not say anything. The actions of care, happiness, peace, patience, self-control, gentleness and kindness are ones of being more than doing.
I want to encourage you to make a difference in the lives of those around you. Be sure and check back here often as ChicagoPride.com will be introducing a number of ways that you and your friends can Make A Difference in our community, country and care network.
I also want to hear and share your stories of making a DIFFERENCE! Please take a moment to write me with your make a difference tails! There are countless opportunities for others to see and hear your stories.
Perhaps you or your organization is providing ways to make a difference. We would like to tell others around the world and in our own neighborhood of Chicago about that!
Stay tuned and make the most of those everyday "Make a Difference Moments"
